Description

Grey Jade

Indigenous tribes of Mexico, Central and South America, and New Zealand carved it into deity masks and ritual artifacts, even cast it into wells as an offering to the water spirits for fresh and plentiful water. Jade has been the most highly esteemed stone in China throughout recorded history, and was valued for its beauty and powers of healing and protection.
Mining: Deposits have been found in New Zealand, Australia, Brazil, China, Canada, Zimbabwe, Russia, Taiwan, Alaska and Poland. The main source of jadeite is Myanmar (Burma), which is also the only source of imperial jadeite. Jadeite is also found in Japan, Canada, Guatemala, Kazakhstan, Russia, Turkey, Cuba and the USA.
Historical and cultural references: Jade is said to bless whatever it touches, serving mankind across the globe for nearly 6,000 years. For primitive peoples in the British Isles, its toughness, and ability to polish and sharpen made it a favored stone for axe heads, knives and weapons.
Shield negative energy with the protective characteristics of Grey Jade. The natural characteristics of the stone include subtle nuances in color, pattern, and texture. No two pieces are alike and will vary slightly from the picture. Inspired by the beauty of Bermuda.

Lavastone

Lava stone is easily the oldest and most frequently found stone in the world; hence, it’s used by nearly an endless amount of cultures. Lava stone literally comes from the core of the earth- fiery brimstone that bubbles to the surface and cools. Once the stone is cool, it becomes porous and black, creating the beautiful black color so many have come to love. This is known as basalt, and can mostly be found in the ocean.
Mining: Hawaii.
Historical and cultural references: Lava stones are fantastic for stabilizing and grounding the root chakra. This is because of the strong connection to the earth and its creation within the center of Earth. In folk remedies, it was also given to soldiers to help them remain calm during battle.

Sodalite

Blue is a rare color for rocks and minerals. When was the last time you found a rock with a vivid blue color? Have you ever found one in nature? When a blue rock – especially one capable of serving as a gem material – is found it immediately has a market. Sodalite is a rare rock-forming mineral best known for its blue to blue-violet color. It has a chemical composition of Na4Al3Si3O12Cl and is a member of the feldspathoid mineral group. High-quality sodalite is used as a gemstone, a sculptural material, and an architectural stone.
Mining: USA, Namibia; Golden, Canada, Russia, Greenland.
Historical and cultural references: Dating back to ancient civilizations, the Sodalite crystal meaning is linked to the ethereal energy that promotes the highest form of self-expression. Sculptors, painters, and artists were known to carry Sodalite for inspiration. The Sodalite crystal stone meaning has a long held association with the color of the heavens. During the Renaissance, this particular shade of blue was considered a sacred color (sacre bleu) and was often used to color the robes of Mother Mary and the Archangel Michael, a warrior-archangel with a flaming sword.
